SHEPHERD'S GATE CHURCH

Some information about Shepherd's Gate Church.

Church History

I purchased a rundown 30x48 block building at the corner of hwy 77 and Ferguson Road. The building had no roof, doors, windows, or bathrooms. After 3 months of renovations, we began services on March 11, 2000, at that time we consist of about 20 members. We are currently running about 100 members on any given Sunday and continuously growing. We have built a new fellowship hall which is currently being used for youth services on Wednesday nights .

Pastor James and Naomi Guy

Pastor James and Naomi Guy

I gave my life to the Lord on my back porch in 1986, that’s when I began to live. Although I’ve had an interesting pre-Christ life, that’s another story in itself, you can listen to my testimony for more information of how a praying mother and grandmother can make a difference. I joined the local Assembly of God church and shortly after that was called by God into the ministry with my wife Naomi. God has truly blessed us with an amazing family. We have 5 children; Wendi, Toni, Tara, Doyle, and Amanda. We have 6 wonderful grandchildren; Chelsey, Devin, Drew, Luke, Wade, and Harley. I was an evangelist and had a tent ministry for 5 years, we faced challenging obstacles, but God prevailed and many souls were saved. I have been in the mission field ministering and building churches in Russia, Mexico, and in Haiti. I have been a pastor for 15 years and founded Shepherds Gate in 2000. I’m currently 66 years old, still on fire for God, and would love the opportunity to talk to you about a man called Jesus.

Associate Pastor Travis and Tasha Mask

Travis Wayne Mask (Born August 18, 1974 in Panama City, Florida) I was raised in Chipley, Florida where I attended Chipley High School and graduated in 1992. I attended Chipola Jr. College from 1992 to 1993 where I majored in Criminology. Soon after that I received a Certificate of Completion for Corrections. I worked for the Department of Corrections for 7 years (non-consecutive) working at Apalachee Correctional Institution and Dozier School for Boys, where I was in charge of the care, custody and control of inmates within the facility. Between DOC and DJJ I served in the Army for 4 years as an Infantry Man. I held the position as a Gunner on a 120mm Mortar, Squad Leader, and Training Specialist. I did Basic Training in Fort Benning, Georgia, and then was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington; Friedburg, Germany; and Fort Stewart, Georgia. I now work with the City of Panama City Beach in the Street Department maintaining streets, signs and whatever else they tell me to maintain. While in the Army I met my beautiful wife Tasha, we have 4 children Omar 16, Darrien 13, Hannah 6, and Zebulon 7 months.

I got saved 7 years ago and in that time God has blessed me with being the Assistant Pastor to the greatest congregation you could ever ask for. I was Youth Pastor for 3 years and have been the Assistant Pastor for 3 years. I am the Mexico Missions Coordinator and Sunday School Director, to God be the glory! I lived my life many years doing as I felt, now that Jesus Christ is my pilot, my life has never been better. I live my life according to my favorite scripture: Philippians 4:6-7 (King James Version) “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Thank you for taking your time and reading about our church and we look forward to seeing you real soon. GOD BLESS!!!
